Your house is on fire. What five items do you grab before you leave?

C: Change of clothes, shoes, money, cell phone, water bottle.
A: Bible, pearls from my aunt, tennis shoes, blankets, wedding photo album.
If you could be/had to be the main character of any movie, who would you be?
C: Danny Ocean from Ocean's Eleven.

A: Either Elle Woods from Legally Blonde or Melanie Carmichael from Sweet Home Alabama!
What physical feature do you love most about yourself?
C: Smile.
A: The freckle under my left eye.

C: My mom liked the names Cody and Ryan. My dad put them in order: Cody Ryan Bland. 
A: My dad liked the song Allison by Elvis Costello.   

What is the greatest place you've ever traveled to?
C: The Carolina's.
A: Australia.
Are you a morning person or a night person?
C: Morning person.

A: Definitely a night owl.
Who is someone you wish you were closer to?
C: Family who past away before we met.
A: My grandpa.
What quality do you have that you hope your kids inherit?
C: Working hard and never quitting. 
A: My out-going personality. 

What's your favorite memory with your childhood best friend?
C: Playing little league football with my friends. 
A: Each fall, my best friend and I would play in the leaves and plan our weddings.

If you had to move out of the country where would you move to?
C: Australia. A: Australia. Obviously we're on the same page. ;)

Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?

• I went to a small school in Indiana where I studied Journalism.  I loved my school and the community around it.
  

Where have you traveled?

• I have been blessed with many wonderful vacations in my life.  A few of my favorite trips were Australia, Paris, and our honeymoon to Mexico.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?

• Our first house!  We are currently in an apartment, which is more than enough room for now, but we would love to update when the time comes.
  

What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?

• Diet Coke. All day, every day.
  

What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?

• Me time would be best spent sitting by a pool and reading a good book.

If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?

• Von Maur, H&M, and Target.  I can't pick just one!
  

What day would you love to relive again?

• Our wedding day.  It was less than two months ago but it the best day of my life.  Everything was perfect!

If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?

• Reece Witherspoon! She is one of my favorite actresses and I absolutely love her but she would have to go brunette to play me. ;)
  

What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?

• In high school I worked at the local Diary Queen - how glamorous, right?  I didn't work during the school year in college but I worked in the summers at a small credit union.

• Cody wants to see Austrilia and I would love to go back.  At some point in our lives, we will make that big trip!

Overdue Date Night

This Friday night, Cody and I had a date night.  This night was pretty special for us because Cody has been on the road with his race team for the past three weeks.  He left mid-July and    just got home this week.  Needless to say, we missed each other very much.  We wanted to celebrate his homecoming with a night out. 

We just moved to a new town.  We left our childhood state of Indiana to move to Michigan.  We have had a very busy couple of months.  Cody started working for the team in March.  I graduated from college in May.  We were married in June.  We moved to Michigan in July.  Cody left for his race trip a week after the move.  It goes without saying that we haven't had a lot of time to try local restaurants.  So we thought Friday would be a good time to try something new.  We choose a local hibachi grill for our first date night in Michigan.  I can proudly say it was delicious!  The chef cooked our meat, veggies, and rice on the grill while entertaining and joking with us.  I will say it was a little pricey but we agreed it was both entertainment and dining so the money was worth it.  

Cody and I enjoyed our night out and we were so happy to be together again after a long trip.  We are looking forward to trying other local restaurants! Thank you for reading and have a great day! 

Meet the Blands

This blog tells the story of two young people.  Let's meet them.

Cody, the hubsand.

Cody is my favorite person in the world. There is not a single person I'd rather spend more time with. He knows what jokes I like and what movies I think are scary. He knows my favorite song and what foods I think are gross. It would be easy to say he is my best friend but he is so much more than that. 

He is the one who laughs when I trip up the stairs but he is also the one who picks me up during hard times. He is the one who dries my eyes when I think I can't handle the stresses of life and the one who pushes me to always do my best. He is the one who throws a fit when he loses during a board game and celebrates whenever we bet my parents at cards. He is my support system, my comedic relief, my partner in crime, and the man of my dreams.

I enjoy the beautiful things of life as well as the silly.  I love to shop and paint my nails.  I like dumb movies and telling jokes no one laughes at but me.  I was a cheerleader for far too many years and no one is ever surprised when I share that fact.  I'm often called "bubbly, out-going, and fun," words I like to hear but I like to refer to myself as Mrs. Bland, my favorite title.
